Review: Koi Dessert Bar

Reynold from Masterchef is another success story, opening up his own dessert bar in Chippendale, Sydney. In a blooming new hood of the CBD, just minutes away from the famous Central Park apartments, it has been buzzing with crowds since the day it opened - just a few weeks ago. We ordered from the downstairs dessert bar, while there is a sit-down restaurant upstairs too.

Left: Mango Yuzu Mousse Cake - $9
Similar to Bibelot's version, but didn't beat it.
The punch of yuzu gel in the centre was strong and balanced out the
sweetness of the dessert. I loved the chocolate shield around the cake.
The colour was also very attractive. The textures were all great,
crispy rice puff base, with light and smooth mousse.
Right: Green Tea Panna Cotta - $12
Sadly I didn't enjoy this dish. I prefer matcha to green tea infusion.
The panna cotta also didn't set properly, it's texture was more like the
mousse above. The stewed fruits also didn't really compliment the dish,
but were tasty and added freshness.
