Review: Lentils As Anything

Again I am sorry for the lack of posts, had exams and am currently in Sydney being kept busy with family, friends and the Easter break. This post is about an outing I had about 2 months ago with some lovely friends, which was very fitting because Lentils As Anything is a lovely initiative and environment.

Lentils As Anything is a charity"vegan food organisation with a "pay as you feel" system meaning you can pay nothing at all e.g. homeless people or be generous and support the cause by paying more. I think its a great way to keep the restaurants running as those with little or no income can access wholesome free food while those better off can indirectly subsidise their meals. It's similar to the whole suspended coffee initiative, and with that being said, Lentils As Anything even makes cafe style coffees and they look and taste damn good.

There are currently 3 restaurants in Melbourne, Abbotsford being the orignal, and the one I went to. They are also excitedly opening their first Sydney restaurant next week in Newton, so be sure to check that out for me! As I sadly will be in Mildura. To find out more, check out these links:

Lentils, Chickpea Curry, Rice, Bread and Roast Potatoes.
Delicious vegetarian meal for my curry loving taste buds,
definitely a must for people that believe vegetables are bland, because this meal definitely was not.
It was amazing quality for a charity restaurant and can definitely
be compared to your average authentic Indian restaurants.
Free coffee, again all vegan, that was served after our meal. From top left to bottom left:
Chai Latte - was actually lovely and mild, very milky despite lack of milk
Mocha - I could definitely compare it to Manchester Press, Brunetti's etc. The flavour balance was excellent,
froth was generous and just very smooth, aromatic taste.
Hot chocolate - lovely flavour, milky again and generous froth
Latte - strong coffee, aromatic flavour.
Overall all the coffee art was beautiful, and the soy flavour non-existent. I would love to know how they frothed
the milk
