Review: Ten One Ate

I am never in the north side but I really wanted to check this cafe out after seeing so many droolworthy pictures on instagram. However, one a trip home from the airport, we stopped here for breakfast and it was definitely worth it! I just wish it wasn't so far away.

Chai Latte - $4
Quite bitter and didn't come with any honey to add.
Definitely didn't like the flavour and the texture was quite grainy.
Crazy Shake Fairy Bread - $12
Haven't had a great freakshake in a while.
Price is steep but worth the indulgence. The strawberry
shake tasted very natural, although the glass was about half full
as you can see. There were tonnes of toppings: whipped cream, meringue,
marshmallows and Persian fairy floss.
Nutella French Toast - $16
This was a loaded flavour bomb of sugar. Definitely not a dish I
could finish but it was delicious. The Nutella didn't really have
a strong hazelnut flavour. It might have been masked by the other
components on the dish or they could've just used a different brand?
The Persian fairy floss and raspberry dust were delightful as always.
I would've preferred ice-cream to mascarpone, as it's lighter and adds
a bit freshness. More fruits would've been good too.
Eggs Benedict - $16
There just wasn't enough hollandaise! And it was quite thick and
buttery. The eggs were also overcooked and not runny, meaning
the dish was quite dry and definitely needed more sauce.
The pulled pork was superb though. Meat was cooked to tender perfection
and the sauce added so much flavour and moisture.
