Review: Kuu Cafe

I love Japanese food, so when I found out about this breakfast option I knew I had to try it out! The cafe is quite small with only seating for about 10-20pax, with some outdoor seats. However, when we arrived one late Sunday morning it was still quite quiet but slowly started filling up for lunch. They have both traditional and westernised dishes and I definitely recommend the brekky platter plates to try a mix of yummy authentic Japanese dishes!

Ginger Tea

Drip Ice Coffee

Karaage Chicken - $7
Lovely crispy fried chicken with a lovely dipping sauce.

Ebi Katsu Sandwich - $11.50
Simple katsu sandwich for a cheap filling meal. The prawns were
coated and fried perfectly and dressed well with salad and mayo.

Karaage Fried Chicken Burger - $15
Perfectly crispy fried chicken with lovely slaw and mayo.
The french fries were the highlight though. Perfectly crispy
with that lovely aonori sprinkle.

Tofu Quinoa Burger - $14
A good vegetarian option

Japanese Brekky Platter For The Hungry - $21
Definitely enough to feed two. This platter may look dainty
with all it's small samplers but it is very filling.
The soba noodle salad was perfectly cooked with a lovely soy based sauce.
The egg was poached perfectly and that sesame hollandaise was super light.
There was also a piece of perfectly grilled salmon and baked chicken.
2 onigiris one with spam and another with salmon. Both were made beautifully
with perfectly cooked and seasoned rice. There were also 2 Japanese meat balls
with some tonkatsu sauce, very flavoursome! All in all the platter
was a joyful delight of delicious and exciting little morsels. However,
There needed to be some sort of dipping sauce like soy sauce on the plate as
the plate was full out dry ingredients apart from the egg, meatballs and salad.
