Review: ISIT cafe

South Yarra/Windsor/Prahan area has soo many amazing great cafes and restaurants. I have almost tried all the cafes in the area and this one is another to add to the list. ISIT is set on Izett St (get the pun?) in an old terrace house with a more traditional fit out. The menu is inventive and hipster and the staff were super friendly.

Berry, Dark Choc & Pistachio Milkshake - $7
More like a smoothie. this was a lovely not so sweet
blend of chocolate, fresh blueberries and some crushed
pistachios on top with a dark chocolate tim tam. The milkshake
was quite grainy from all that blended blueberries but I quite like
the texture.

Hot Chocolate - $4.00
Nice amount of froth and not too sweet

Sriracha Benedict = $18
A lovely South East Asian take on a classic breakfast dish.
My favourite part had to be the finger limes and that green sauce/gel.
The hollandaise was a lovely texture and flavour, not too spicy.
The quinoa fritters were quite nice. First time ever having them.
I do find fritters overall to be quite dense and doughy in the centre,
which I don't like, but these weren't the worst I've had.
The salmon was cured well, it was slowly cooking on my plate.
All in all a delicious dish, but if you don't like a bold mix of flavours,
this might not be for you.

Chicken Katsu Burger - $21
The chicken katsu was cooked really well, crispy batter, not too dry on the inside.
I don't think the slaw was the best though, was quite soggy and the miso mayo wasn't
the best burger sauce we've had. However, the chips and that aoili were amazing!
Lovely super thick cut crispy skin was big salt flakes.
