Review: Jinda Thai

Post placement dinner at one of Richmond's best rated restaurants. The night we went, it wasn't full at all, with about 1/3 of the tables taken, by the time we left, around 7:30pm. The serving size of the dishes is quite small, and not really made for sharing

Left: Cha Yen - $3
Classic thai ice milk tea, sadly they overload the glasses with ice.
Right: Nom Yen - $3
I had never tried this before and was told it is like a thai milk tea, just pink,
but when I took a sip, all it tasted like was nesquik strawberry milk,
which isn't bad, but not what I was expecting
Thai style deep fried chicken wings - $10.90
I really liked these. The skin was nice and crispy,
chicken size was a bit small though, more like a spatchcock.
Flavour was basic seasoning but worked well with the dipping sauce
Massaman Curry Beef - $16.90
Not my favourite massaman, the beef was a bit dry, the sauce
was a bit runny. The flavour of the curry was good, but not as full bodied
as I like. Serves about 2, with rice.

Som Tum Soft Shell Crab - $13.90
I really enjoyed this, great sour & spicy flavour. The crab
was cooked really well, with a nice crunchy shell. The
papaya salad had good dressing as was refreshing.
Jinda's Beef Noodles - $10
Large bowl, but barely filled. The beef again was a bit
tough, but I really loved the flavours of this dish, nutty,
sweet and savoury,
Pepper & Garlic Soft Shell Crab - $17.90
Like above, the crab was cooked really well,
but very small serving. The flavour was nice too
Jungle Curry - $17.90
The most flavoursome dish of the night. It was quite spicy, but
tolerated by all, and definitely needs to be eaten with rice.
It was packed with tonnes of interesting vegetables from bamboo
to mushrooms. Great dish and decent serving size.
