Review: Ichi Ichi Ku

One of the cutest, and most decorated little restaurants I've been to (I felt like I was stepping into Howl's Moving Castle, and it was magical). Set within a residential area, Ichi Ichi Ku is an inconspicuous, hole in the wall Japanese restaurant with lovely staff, great quality food and to die for desserts. Seating is limited though, so come early, or try one of their other 2 joints, including the newly opened Ichi Ichi Nana.

Spicy Tuna Roll - $20
Not very spicy for my taste buds but definitely cured that sushi craving.
Perfect ratios of tuna to vegetables to kewpie. Really tasty and fresh!
Chicken Udon - $17
One of the best udons I've ever had.
Generous serving size and excellent flavour, really hits the spot
on a cold, rainy night. The udon was cooked just right,
not tough, nor slimy. The pan fried chicken had a nice char to it
and were seasoned well with mixed spices.
The soup was also had perfect balance of flavours and salt.
Torikara - $12.50
We love our fried chicken. This one was cooked really well,
crunchy, not so oily batter with tender, moist chicken within.
Served with kewpie for dipping and lemon to cut through all that fat.
Matcha Cheesecake - $.7.50
We ate this a couple hours later, when we arrived home, as we were too full
after dinner. Sadly, it had softened by then and lost it's texture.
However, the flavours were still superb. Creamy, not too sweet
and the crumb base was buttery and just melted in your mouth.
