Travelogue: Vietnam Part III - The Dining
Because writing takes too long, this will be a photo diary of all the food & drinks I had in Vietnam with brief descriptions. Enjoy!
Whoever said aeroplane food was bad must have had no taste buds.
Needed a refreshment @ Blu Coffee after wandering around in Ho Chi Minh's humidity:
Hazelnut Coffee Ice Blend |
Matcha Ice Blend |
Our Welcome Dinner:
Lunch after Cu Chi Tunnels:
Making rice paper rolls filled with fried fish and fresh herbs and vegetables. |
Seafood Hotpot |
The need for free wifi @ Urban Station Coffee
Cookies & Cream Choc Mint Flavour Chiller |
Matcha Blended Chiller |
Late night Lotteria run:
Fish nuggets & fish burger |
Ice Coffee |
Taro Pie |
Learning to be Masterchefs:
Job well done yes? |
Mmm all the spring rolls we made! |
And now we get to eat them =D |
They love their beer.
Da Lat:
Free hotel breakfast, how I've missed western food. |
Da Lat Winter Night Markets:
Assortment of meats & seafood on skewers. Had the chicken and fish. Yum yum! |
Bun Rieu - crab noodle soup. Warms you up on a cold night, although the blood jelly was an interesting surprise. |
Warm soy milk and mung bean drink |
Blurry, tough chicken foot |
Assorted pastries yum |
The best aloe vera lollies |
Classic Vietnamese Cuisine:
Banh Mi |
Raw beef pho |
Sugar cane juice (so cheap at only ~30c AUD) |
Last weekend spent at Mekong:
Chicken pho |
Fanny icecream fondue |
Special beef pho. The only special thing was one piece of tendon :'( |
Last meal in Vietnam:
Grilled chicken with salt and chilli. I swear their animals starve :( so little meat on their bones but the flavour was amazing. |
Seafood soup was superb |
Steamed osphronemus goramy. Don't ask me what kind of fish that is, I just know it tasted good and reminded me of home food, minus the overly concentrated stock. |
