Review: Platform No.8

I never tried this place before because I've always been cautious about how good shopping centre food can be; you know with the stereotypical fast food chains and independent fast food too. But, I hadn't eaten cafe food in a long time now and thought nowadays shopping centres really are getting fancier with their dining, take Westfield Sydney for example.Although platform 8 isn't a generic street side, modern cafe, it definitely feels like it, with the wooden furniture, dessert cabinet, modern cafe menu and personal customer service. By the way, the staff are super friendly, going out of their way to make conversation.

Vanilla Milkshake - $5
Didn't try any of this but I love the classic milkshake glasses.
Also I consider the price decent, so might try it next time.
Buffalo Wings w/ Chips - $14.50
Although not technically cafe/brunch food, it was still good.
The buffalo wings weren't your traditional buffalo flavour,
instead they were a mix of sweet and spicy with a golden syrup like glaze
and hot chilli powder. Don't be scared of the char, did not taste burnt at all.
We shared this between 2 and were really full, didn't even finish the chips
which were cooked well but could've done with more seasoning.
Macarons - $1.20 each
"The cheapest macarons in Australia" I believe was the claim.
But as they say, you get what you pay for, so be warned, they are quite petite in size.
p.s. thank you for giving me 2 extra for free (they are trying to get rid of them all,
so they might do the same for you)
Left - Cappuccino
Very subtle flavour, but the biscuit texture was a nice moist centre and brittle exterior.
Right - Durian
Don't be scared by the flavour, these don't come with the garbage smell. I only managed to
get one bite before my grandma devoured it, and it was lovely. Although I can't say
the actual macarons were as good the cappuccino ones, with the shell being dried out
(probably a bit old). But the cream and flavour were definitely on par.
