Review: Kanzo

Went out for lunch on Queen's Birthday and luckily this place was still open. A small, discreet restaurant on George Street Parramatta, that can be easily overlooked when walking past, even I hadn't realised I had been here before until I saw it on Urbanspoon.

Pork Gyoza - $6.50
On the menu it says 4 pieces, but they gave 5 pieces instead :)
I wasn't a big fan of the filling though, wasn't very generous,
left you with too much dough and the pork didn't taste amazing,
just simple pork, without any accessory flavours.
Ebi Katsu Udon - $12
The serving size looked so big, but really the bowl was just shallow.
The katsu was really crispy and not too oily, I definitely prefer
panko to tempura batter. The udon was also cooked well
and I liked the variety of vegetables. The soup itself was a bit
too salty though.
Black Sesame Ice-cream - $3.50
Flavour was good, not too sweet or salty,
but in terms of texture the ice-cream was really hard,
a knife would've been better than the spoon we were given.
It was also quite icy, like it had been re-frozen.

Not pictured: I sadly forgot to take a picture of the Grilled Salmon Roll ($16), but you can see it in the menu, and all you need to know is that it was AMAZING! Full of flavour, very large sized rolls with generous fillings, and rich drizzles of sauce.
