Review: Richmond Food Truck Park

Running throughout the month of May and now extended until the 14th of June, the Food Truck Park is currently open on Church St Richmond, for lunch and dinner. Had the chance to come here twice, the second time was a last minute trip for free yoghurt thanks to Jay's Yogurt!

O Tuga:

Valenciana Rice - $12
One of the best paella dishes I have ever had. The rice was cooked
really well, as was the chicken. The most important part was the flavour,
nice amount of heat with excellent use of vegetables and spices.
Very flavoursome and colourful dish for a great price!

Big Cook Little Cook:

Smoky Chilli Jam Chicken - $12
Large serving size, finished the rest for dinner.
The chilli jam had amazing flavour, nice spicy charred flavour.
The batter and chicken was well cooked. Loved it!
(also featured in the background is Speedy Gonzalez fries, sadly
not as well seasoned and served luke-warm, but texture and
crunch was still great, so I still recommend them)
Slow Cooked Lentils and Mixed Veg Masala - $10
Great vegetarian option, cheap price and comes with roti unlike
the other dishes.

Jay's Yogurt:

Make Your Own - $7
We picked chocolate biscuits, chocolate, strawberries and raspberries.
Tasted like a really fresh raspberry Tim Tam, just amazing.
Really bold flavours, not overly sweet and lovely, smooth yoghurt.
My favourite of the three!
Hot Apple Cup - $9
Loved the persian fairy floss, the candied cashews were toasted nicely.
The froyo itself had really nice spiced apple taste. However,
I felt there was more stewed apple than yoghurt though which made
the dish too solid for me, but great flavour regardless.
Tangerine Frozen Yoghurt with Poached Pear - $10
First problem with the dish was it melted too fast because of the pear.
Otherwise the pear was poached perfectly, could easily cut through it with the
plastic spoon. The froyo itself is texturised with tangerine rind I presume,
which I didn't really like, because I love that smooth texture. I couldn't really
taste the tangerine flavour either, there was definitely a mild citrus flavour,
but it wasn't prominent enough. Still tasted amazing though!
