Review: Lorca

Random pick of a breakfast spot post ANZAC Day Dawn Service. Yes, that's how late this review is. This cafe was bustling on this rainy day, but this made for poor service and really crapped seating with chairs back to back, little leg room and staff squeezing to get past. Overall, average food and rather poor service lead to a mediocre meal.

Mocha - $3.50
Coffee seemed under-extracted but good chocolate flavour.
The foam also did not dome and was at least 1cm below the rim.
Spanish Brekky - $16.50
Very filling dish which I actually couldn't finish, but more so because
of the flavour. That tomato sauce was just too strong, really acidic.
I was also expected a more solid meal rather than this soup like dish.
The eggs also weren't your classic round poached eggs, and seemed to have
been cooked outside of the sauce and then put in. They were also a bit overcooked
with the yolk hard and grainy. They were really generous with the chorizo though,
but I needed more to go with it and sadly the peas just weren't enough.
Overall a potentially amazing dish, just needs some improvement.s
Potato and Onion Confit Omelette - $12
Such a small serving on such a large plate,
but I guess you get what you pay for, and at $12,
it is a filling meal. However, starch on starch just isn't
my thing and I found the whole dish to be a bit dry,
needed some vegetables to go with it. Otherwise,
the flavour of the omelette was great, and cooked well.
